Re: "The Future of God" by Deepak Chopra

I've never read a book by one of the populist atheist authors, nor one by Chopra. War of the World Views sounds somewhat promising at least for a scan.

Re: The Gates and Buffett

I assume those are millions of dollars of estimated wealth. How certain are we and have they adequately accounted for all he owes? Hard to imagine how any bank could make a determination of his ability to repay given how chaotic he's been.

I have been trawling other forums and bring back the odd snippet ... not just the determined ones.
Anything on atheist forums worth bringing here?

Not lately.

Re: Worst US President ever.

I'm also gobsmacked that enough of my fellow citizens voted for the dung heap with the comb-over. He obviously has the worst president ever prize wrapped up now. My own sister voted for Trump and my efforts to reason with her have resulted in a very tenuous relationship for us now. She never finishe...

Re: Hello again, hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Sir W, Good to hear your online voice, so to speak. The photos that you couldn't view of Romansh's may require you signing in, that's been my experience. The snow at his place surprises me, I thought it was a rain climate area. At 67, my back needed a course of steroids this year, and breaking m...

Re: Hello again, hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks. Hope you didn't accidentally post photos from the wrong file. They come with disclaimers saying I am not authorized to view them. But my imagination tells me I'd be viewing some snow if I could. That's funny, now I can view them. Go figure. (Maybe I hadn't logged in yet.) Looks like yo...

Hello again, hope everyone is doing well.

I need to get back outside and get a project done but I was just cleaning out old email and came across an announcement that Carol was back. (That probably tells you how far back I got in sifting through my email inbox.) So I'm stealing a little more time away from the garden to say hello. I'm retir...

Re: A list of acceptable beliefs

I get what you're saying, romansh but given the views I just ended up having I have little patience for young earth creationism. I likewise have tremendous respect for any theist who cops to their own agnosticism, same goes for atheists of course but they're just no where near as rare a bird.

Re: Free will

I seriously doubt that there is anything I can figure out which will result 'in sawing the limb out from under me', as so often happens in cartoons. The free will/ determinism discussion lacks the power to nullify the me involved in the discussion. No consideration of the logical implications of a d...
