Re: The inherent issues with "God is Love"...

the word is homeostasis. Its the only notion I know that matches everything, anybody, anywhare talks about. But most importantly it matches observations. I have said many times here, "Maybe, god created us like we create a finger nail or blood cell." the universe probably "life" ...

Re: How to achieve a believable belief?

I try to look around to see what we have in describing an unknown and come up with a story that fits what we see or contains the most conditions as possible. The word "born" keeps cropping up. If fits so many angles in describing what we see. From particles that look like they have a purpo...

Re: How to achieve a believable belief?

This is tricky rom. For me. And I am not sure about it. There are two possible choices. From nothing or from something. I just am a "from something" camper. Because nothing freaks me out more than nothing. no energy is like no-nothing to me. Nothing interacting with nothing else to form so...

Re: Free will

2142 Posta diners later. we are in the exact same spot. monism as a religion falls as short as any other. But as a model of reality used in conjunction with other models monism is good. "pluralism", by definition, uses everything at our disposal to analyze events. So I would lean towards it.

Re: How to achieve a believable belief?

make claims based on what you do know. And UNIFORMITARIANISM. with a physics degree we would understand "something" over "no-nothing". "no-nothing' just makes no sense even with the little we know.
